SYLHET: Just days after the reported incident of rape of two private university girls in Dhaka’s Banani, a sex video has gone viral on the Internet in Sylhet.

A mother and her daughter were allegedly raped at Dema village under Dorbost union at Jaintapur upazila in Sylhet and the sex video was uploaded on Internet by the ‘rapist’.

Police on Thursday morning (May 11) arrested the ‘rapist’ named Nimar Ahmed, 28, son of Abdul Khalique of Dema village.

According to the locals, a young girl of Dema village was allegedly raped by Nimar. The girl had been lured into having sex on a promise of marriage.

The ‘rapist’ had secretly videographed the act. Later, he uploaded the video clip, as the girl refused to continue having sex.

He also raped mother of the girl through threatening of uploading the video of her daughter on Internet. Later, he also uploaded the sexual act with the mother.  

After the matter came to the fore, the village arbitrators informed the matter to Jaintapur model police station.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Jaintapur model police station Shafiul Kabir told Bangalnews that they detained Nimar Ahmed from Dorbost Bazar at about 11:00 am on Thursday. Nimar confessed that he uploaded the sex video on Internet. 

President of Jaintapur Press Club Foyez Ahmed said that the incident is barbaric. He demanded capital punishment of the rapist.
