FARIDPUR: Police recovered Tk 1.22 crore out of looted Tk 1.57 crore from the house of Abul Kalam Azad, office assistant of Rupali Bank Faridpur Branch, on Sunday.

Police Super Jamil Hasan said that the money was found under ground at the yard of the house of the office assistant. Earlier, he confessed of looting the money in police interrogation.

In the interrogation Abul Kalam Azad confessed that he left unlock the vault on Thursday and with the help of Ansar members looted a total of Tk 1.57 crore on Friday night.

Later on Sunday morning, police detained Abul Kalam Azad and four Ansar members on suspecting their involvement in the theft.
