The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers, accompanied by temporary gusty wind, across many parts of the country in the next 24 hours starting from 9:00 am today.

According to a BMD bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain or thunder showers are likely to occur at a few places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.

Similar weather may also occur at one or two places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions, with the possibility of moderately heavy rainfall in some areas.

The met office said that both day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.

It said that monsoon is currently less active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay, while a fresh low-pressure area may form over the central Bay and adjoining North Bay within the next 24 hours.

On Tuesday, the country’s highest temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Srimangal, while the lowest was 24.5 degrees Celsius in Bandarban.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:53 pm today and rise again at 5:49 am tomorrow, the BMD said.
