The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 1,999 cases across the capital on Wednesday (September 24) for violations of traffic rules.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued today, signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) Muhammad Talebur Rahman.
According to the release, DMP also impounded 378 vehicles and towed 145 others during the drives conducted across the city. Fines were realized from offenders on the spot.
The DMP said such drives will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka’s streets.
