UAE to ban Bangladeshi visas from Jan 2026

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has imposed a ban on Bangladeshi citizens from applying for tourist and work visas, effective January 2026.

According to UAEVisaOnline, which cited an immigration circular, the restriction is part of a broader suspension covering nationals of Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Lebanon, Cameroon, Sudan, and Uganda.

The travel agency, which provides online visa services, said the decision is temporary, though the UAE government has not issued an official statement explaining the move. Reports suggest the suspension is linked to security concerns, geopolitical issues, and Covid-19 precautionary measures.

The ban will not affect nationals of the listed countries already residing in the UAE with valid visas. They can continue living and working legally. However, no new applications for tourist or work visas will be accepted until the restrictions are lifted.

The suspension does not amount to a travel ban, meaning entry remains possible for those with existing valid visas.

Common reasons behind UAE travel restrictions typically include overstaying visas, using forged documents, entering on invalid visas, or working without permits. Health requirements, such as Covid-19 testing and vaccination rules, also remain in force.

Once the ban is lifted, affected nationals, including Bangladeshis, will be able to apply for visas through UAE embassies or accredited online platforms. Until then, the restrictions will remain in place while authorities review security and health conditions.
