Light to moderate rain and thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to affect several regions of Bangladesh over the next 24 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said on Thursday (Sept 25) morning.
In its latest weather bulletin, the BMD forecast that scattered showers are expected at a few locations across the Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.
Similar conditions may occur at one or two places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.
The department also warned of “moderately heavy” rainfall in some areas across the country during the forecast period, which began at 9:00am.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
The BMD noted that the monsoon is currently less active over Bangladesh but remains moderate over the northern Bay of Bengal.
On Wednesday, the highest temperature recorded in the country was 36.2°C in Rajarhat, while the lowest was 23.2°C in Bandarban.
In the capital, Dhaka, the sun is expected to set at 5:52 pm today and rise at 5:49 am tomorrow.
