Curfew in Rangamati

RANGAMATI: District Administration imposed curfew from Sunday evening to 8:00am Monday following a clash between groups of indigenous people and Bangali settlers on Sunday.

Deputy Commissioner Shamsul Arefin of the district made the announcement in this regard across the district town at 7:15pm.

Locals said at least 20 people were injured as both the groups locked into the clash in the evening.

Earlier on Saturday, Local administration had imposed Section 144 in Rangamati town for an indefinite period following a series of clashes between the groups that left over 15 injured.

The clashes took place centering the opening of Rangamati Medical College and Hospital.
