DHAKA: The first phase of Bishwa Ijtema will end on Sunday morning through a special prayer called ‘Akheri Munajat’ on the bank of river Turag in Tongi, outskirt of Dhaka city.

Sources told banglanews that the prayer will be held at 10:30am on the day seeking spiritual blessing and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

Senior religious scholars of Tablighi Jamaat have taken the decision Saturday afternoon, sources added.

However, thousands of devotees from home and abroad have gathered on the Ijtema ground, to attend the congregation which began Friday dawn, amid a non-stop countrywide blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.

On the other hand, the second phase of Ijtema will be held from January 16 to 18.
