LAXMIPUR: A motorcyclist died here in Kamalnagar on Thursday night after being attacked by the supporters of the blockade, enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.

The deceased was identified as Yusuf Ali, 40, son of Abdul Hakim, hailed from Noakhali’s Andar Char area.

Sources told banglanews that he along with his brother was attacked around 10:30pm while returning home.

The blockaders, at that time, hit them with stick on their head intercepting their motorcycle by putting tree logs on the road, leaving them injured, sources added.

Later, Yusuf died on the way to Kamalnagar Upazila Health Complex, said his brother Abdul Matin.

Confirming the matter, Kamalnagar Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) said that police is looking into the matter.

Earlier, three more persons were killed and several hundred injured on the second day of the nationwide blockade in different areas of the country.
