Three hill residents were killed and several others injured in an attack by miscreants in Guimara Upazila of Khagrachhari district. Among the injured were 13 army personnel, including a major, and three police officers, including the officer-in-charge (OC) of Guimara police station.

The Ministry of Home Affairs expressed deep sorrow over the incident in a statement on Sunday (September 28).

Public Relations Officer Faisal Hasan said the ministry would conduct a thorough investigation and assured that legal action would be taken against all involved. “No offender will be spared,” the statement added.

The ministry also urged residents in the area to remain patient and maintain peace until further notice.
