Gas cylinder blast injures 11

DHAKA: At least 11 people sustained serious burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in capital’s Chankharpul area on Thursday noon.

Witnesses said that the explosion took place around 12:00pm in front of Kazi Gas Company, leaving some 11 people injured including some pedestrians.

On information, two units of fire fighters led-by Senior Station Officer of Fire Service rushed to the place and doused the flame.

The injured were rushed to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Duty Doctor of burn unit of DMCH Iqbal Ahmed said that the condition of six of the injured is critical as their respiratory organs were severely burnt.

Sub-Inspector of Chawk Bazaar Thana Derik confirmed the matter to banglanews.
