Singer Mainul Ahsan Noble has been granted bail in a case filed over the abduction and rape of a student from Eden Mohila College.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Meher Nigar Mahbub passed the bail order following a hearing on Tuesday (June 24).

The development comes after Noble married the victim on June 19 inside jail premises under court directives. The marriage was conducted by prison authorities based on a registered marriage deed involving a dower amount of Tk 10 lakh.

Noble had been in jail since May 19, after being arrested by Demra Police.
