A total of 28 new Covid-19 cases were detected across the country in the last 24 hours, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
DGHS issued a press release on Wednesday (June 18) afternoon.
According to the statement, 308 samples were tested during this period, with a positivity rate of 9.09 percent.
So far this year, 359 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Bangladesh has reported 2,051,901 cases.
No new deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. The total number of Covid-related deaths remains at 29,506. Seven deaths have been reported so far this year.
The overall recovery rate now stands at 98.42 percent, while the fatality rate remains at 1.44 percent.
Bangladesh confirmed its first Covid-19 case on March 8, 2020, and the first death from the virus on March 18 of the same year.
