CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Law enforcers said they have found three scattered bodies inside the suspected militant hideout in Alatuli village under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.

RAB Spokesperson and Media Wing Director Commander Mufti Mahmud said in a press briefing that the deceased were members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), a banned militant outfit.

Their identities couldn’t be known yet.

“DNA tests will be conducted to know their identities”, said Mufti.

Two strong explosives were recovered from the hideout and later defused by the bomb disposal unit, he added.

However, the tin-shed house in a remote area of Alatuli village close to Godagari upazila of Rajshahi were cordoned-off by the members of RAB-5 since early Tuesday (November 28), suspecting that militants might be hiding there.

Owner of the house and his wife were nabbed from Godagari, in the morning.

The militant suspects inside the house were earlier urged to surrender but they didn’t.

Later, RAB members retaliated as the suspects hurled grenades and fired gunshots upon the law enforcers, causing explosion that left the house charred.
