Awami League Advisory Council member and former Bhola-1 lawmaker Tofail Ahmed remains alive but in a “critical” condition, his son-in-law Dr. Touhiduzzaman confirmed.
Speaking around 11 pm on October 4, Dr. Touhiduzzaman said the veteran politician’s health had sharply declined earlier in the evening.
“At around 8 pm, his blood pressure and pulse dropped significantly. They have since stabilized, but his overall condition remains critical—worse than before. However, he is still alive,” he told reporters.
Tofail Ahmed was admitted to Square Hospital in Dhaka on September 27 with multiple age-related health complications. Wheelchair-bound for several years, he reportedly suffered partial paralysis following a stroke.
