PANCHAGARH: Four people were killed, eight others injured by thunderbolt attack in Bhajanpur union under Tetulia upazila of the district Friday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Azizul, 50, son of Dulu Mohammad of Bhelupara village, Babu, 22, son of Dulal of Bhajanpur collegepara village, Shahinur, 23, son of Komser Ali of Shantijog village and Tarikul Islam, 30 of Daluapara area of the upazila.

Bhajanpur Union Parishad (UP) chairman Mostafa Kamal Swapan said four people were killed and other eight were hurt in lightning attack while they were elevating stones in different spots in the upazila around 5:30pm.

The injured have been given treatment in Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital.

Dr SM Mahbubul Alam of the hospital confirmed the matter to banglanews.
