DHAKA: The government formed a monitoring cell to supervise the arrest of accused in the cases for crimes against humanity as per the order of International Crimes Tribunal-1.
The law enforcing authorities informed the matter through a letter to the tribunal’s registrar on Sunday.
The letter said a five members committee, led by a deputy inspector general (DIG), has been formed on May 21. They will submit report every 40 days to the tribunal.
The committee of monitoring cell also includes representatives from Detective Branch of police, Special Branch of police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and investigation agency of the war crimes tribunal.
A three-member tribunal, headed by Justice Enayetur Rahim, passed the suo moto order on May 13.
