DHAKA: Muggers snatched Tk 33.27 lakh at gunpoint from an officer of a private organization in city’s Moghbazar area on Sunday.

The victim, Selim Akhter, 29, said four to five miscreants riding motorcycle intercepted Selim and his office staff Pintu Das while they were going to deposit the money into a bank.

The snatchers shot Selim at his leg as he tried to deter them to mug the cash. At one stage, the muggers took the money and fled the spot immediately.

Later, Pintu rushed Selim to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition.

DMCH outpost assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sentu Chandra Das confirmed the matter to banglanews.
