RAJSHAHI: Police recovered body of a branch manager of BRAC Bank from his rented house in Bagmara upazila of the district Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Atikur Rahman, 35, hailed from Ahmedpur in Natore district.

Bagmara Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Abu Obaida Khan told banglanews that on information, they recovered the manager’s body by breaking the house around 11:00am and brought it to the thana.

Later at noon, the body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) for autopsy, he added.

Abu Obaida Khan, however, declined to comment whether it was a murder or suicide before receiving the post-mortem report.

Quoting one of the deceased’s colleagues Mohirul Islam, the OC further said Atikur Rahman, a bachelor, went to Rajshahi early evening for official tasks.

An unnatural death (UD) case has been filed with the thana, he added.
