The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in many parts of the country over the next 24 hours, beginning at 9:00 am today (Sep 26).
According to a BMD bulletin, Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions are likely to experience such weather, while one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions may also witness rainfall. Moderately heavy to heavy falls are anticipated at some places in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.
The met office also predicted a slight fall in day temperatures, while night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged. It noted that the monsoon is currently less active over Bangladesh but moderate to strong over the North Bay.
On Thursday, the highest temperature was recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius in Tangail and Netrokona, while the lowest was 23.8 degrees Celsius in Bandarban.
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:51 pm today and rise at 5:49 am tomorrow.
