Khaleda’s call tapes at cabinet meeting

DHAKA: The cabinet on Monday heard the audio tapes of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s telephone conversations, which “indicate instructions’ of violence”.

Sources told banglanews that the policy making body also demanded immediate arrest of BNP chief after hearing the recorded conversations, spread through Youtube, at a regular cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

However, a ruling Awami League minister, regarding the matter, said that the premier after hearing the audio tapes, expressed her surprise as it was Khaleda Zia giving instruction to create violence.

The other ministers, at that time, also demanded Khaleda’s arrest along with them she talked to.

However, the conversations, which spread through the social audio-video website early Monday, were reportedly recorded about four years ago.

Meanwhile, the audio tapes have created uproar among the internet users.
