KHULNA: Ringleader of a robber gang was killed in a gunfight with police in Kumarkhali Char under Paikgachha early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Amin Hossain Ranga, 40, head of Ranga bahini.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Khulna DB police Rukonozzaman said, on information police raided in the area to recover arms. Members of Ranga Bahini attacked police then and police also opened fire for defense, leaving Ranga dead on the spot.

A foreign pistol, two guns, huge bullets and locally made arms were recovered from the spot, while Ranga was wanted in five more cases of murders-abductions, the OC added.
