NOAKHALI: Four Bangladeshi nationals died from suffocation due to the shortage of oxygen in the room where they lived at Tripoli town of North Lebanon on Saturday night (Lebanon local time).
The deceased were identified as Din Islam Babul, 35, son of late Joynal Abedin of Ganipur village under Begumganj upazila, Zahir, 27, son of Oli Ullah of Madhabsingh village of the same upazila, Arif, 30, son of Nadu Miah of Naba under Kabirahat upazila and Sujan, 25, son of Abdur Rob of Latifpur village under Mokshedpur upazila of Gopalganj district.
Quoting deceased’s fellow Kamrul Hossain, hails from Chapainawabganj, victims’ relatives confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Victims’ relatives told banglanews that the four young men made fire in a bucket to get warm and went to bed dousing the fire.
But, after sometime, the room got filled with the smoke emerged from the fire that created huge Carbon Dioxide inside the room and shortage of oxygen, leaving the four dead from suffocation.
Being informed, Lebanon police recovered the bodies on Sunday morning (Lebanon local time) and taken to the police station.
The deceased’s family members urged government to take necessary steps to bring the bodies in Bangladesh.
