Chashi Nazrul to be buried beside father’s grave

MUNSHIGANJ: The late Ekushey Padak and National Film Award winning filmmaker Chashi Nazrul Islam will be buried beside his father’s grave at their family graveyard at Samashpur village of Sreenagar upazila of the district.

His cousin Nasir Uddin told banglanews that Chashi Nazrul will be buried on Monday evening.

Earlier, he added, the eminent film director’s body will be brought in Munshiganj in the afternoon following the namaz-e-janaza at the National Press Club and Baitul Mukarram Masjid in the capital.

Chashi Nazrul Islam passed away at a city hospital early Sunday. He was 73.

Nazrul, who had been suffering from liver cancer, breathed his last at Labaid Specialized Hospital of the city around 6:00am on the day.
