DHAKA: A court on Sunday granted bail to Rubel Hossain, member of Tigers’ squad for World Cup 2015, in a rape case filed by actress Naznin Aktar Happy.

Acting Judge Imrul Kayes of Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Court passed order in the noon after bail hearing.

Barrister Muniruzzaman Asad moved for Rubel in the bail hearing.

Relatives said that he can join Bangladesh team’s world cup preparatory camp in Mirpur National Cricket Stadium to be started on Monday.

Earlier on January 8, a court sent Rubel Hossain to jail rejecting his bail plea in the case after he surrendered before the court.

Happy filed the case with Mirpur Thana against Rubel accusing of raping her On December 13, 2014.

Later, Rubel took four weeks anticipatory bail from High Court on December 15, 2014.
