DHAKA: A Sub-Inspector (SI) of Gulshan Thana Police, Khalid Hossain was critically injured as blockaders blasted several cocktails targeting the law enforcers in city’s Gulshan area on Saturday night.

One of the witnesses, Jubayer Hossain said that a gang of 10-15 blockaders brought out a procession in the area around 9:00pm.

At one stage, they hurled 8-10 cocktails aiming the patrol police, leaving SI Khalid injured critically.

The injured police official was rushed to United Hospital.

Later, the law enforcers opened fire to bring the situation under control but failed to nab anyone as the blockaders fled the scene immediately.

Police sources said that additional law enforcers were deployed in the area to avert further untoward situations.

Assistant Commissioner of Gulshan Zone Nurul Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
