DHAKA: A private university student was killed as a bus knocked him down in Merul Badda area in the city on Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Sadi Morshed, 20, a BBA student of Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB) and son of SM Alam, of Uttar Kamlapur.

Deceased’s mother Sabura Begum said Sadi was returning home from the university riding his motorcycle. Suddenly, a speedy ‘Falgun Paribahan’ bus rammed into the bike in the area, leaving him severely injured.

Later, locals whisked off victim to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the attending doctors declared him dead.

Badda Thana Officer-in-Charge Abdul Jalil told banglanews that they seized the bus.

However, a case will be filed in this connection, the OC added.
