Female edu official harassed

DHAKA: Dhaka regional education official Qamrun Nahar was harassed due to her protest to bribes.

She complained to the secondary and higher secondary education directorate director general on Monday noon.

Education directorate sources said a Khilgaon Government Girls’ High School employee Ataur Rahman recently gave Tk 200,000 as bribe for his transfer to regional education office.

After knowing the incident school inspector Qamrun Nahar protested and later being informed director general Fahima Khatun cancelled the transfer order.

Complaints against regional office deputy director Mostafa Kamal and an employee leader Khurram Zaman Mollah said that they were involved in transfer business with bribes.

Qamrun Nahar told banglanews that Khurram Zaman Mollah scolded her Monday morning in an indecent way.

Later, Qamrun Nahar came to the directorate and submitted a written complaint against Mostafa Kamal and Khurram Zaman Mollah to the director general Fahima Khatun and director Sujan Kanti Mandal.
