National Identity Card (NID) services in Bangladesh have been disrupted due to server login complications, preventing officials from accessing key systems and affecting various service operations.
On Tuesday (May 13), NID Director General ASM Humayun Kabir confirmed the issue.
According to him, officials were unable to log into the server due to the non-receipt of one-time passwords (OTPs) required for authentication.
As a result, online-based services, including new voter registration, correction, and updates, have been temporarily suspended. However, identity verification services and core server functions remain operational.
Kabir assured that authorities had already contacted the OTP service provider and expressed hope that the issue would be resolved soon.
The disruption has caused significant inconvenience, particularly as NID services play a crucial role in voter registration, national identification, and administrative verification.
Officials are working to restore full functionality, but until then, affected services remain inaccessible.
