No power cuts during Sehri, Iftar

DHAKA: The government has decided not to power cut during Sehri, Iftar and Tarabi prayer time, the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) informed on Sunday.

But, in this regard, shops and markets are ordered to shut off by 9:30pm till 15 Ramadan.

The government also urged people not to lighting excessive.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, BPDB Chairman Abduhu Ruhullah said that though the capacity of power production is 10,000 megawatt, power authorities now can produce 6,818 megawatt, due to some unavoidable lacking.

To cover the shortage there might a few times load shedding in the day, he added.
