GAIBANDHA: A local Awami League leader was killed in a road accident in Panthapara area under Gobindaganj upazila of the district on Tuesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam Mandanl Mukter, 45, son of Fazal Mandal, and General Secretary of Harirampur union unit Awami League.

Witnesses said a rashly driven truck crushed into his motorbike in the area while he was returning from Panthapara around 6:00pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

Gobindaganj Highway Thana Officer-in-Charge Masud Parvez confirmed the matter to banglanews.
