3 victims lose battle for life

DHAKA: Three people, who sustained burn injuries in a fire after chemical container blast in city’s Tejgaon area, succumbed to their injuries on Friday.

The victims were identified as Abdul Latif, a van-driver, Ibrahim Khalil, 35, hailed from Noakhali and Shafiul Azam, 45, hailed from Jhenaidah.

Abdul Latif, with 96 percent burns, breathed his last at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at 1:00am while Ibrahim Khalil, with 91 percent burns, and Shafiul, with 95 percent burns, lost their battle for life t in afternoon.

Earlier on Thursday noon, a chemical container explosion caused a fire near Tejgaon Women’s College gate in city leaving 11 critically injured including two student of private universities.

The victims were admitted to the burn unit of DMCH.
