Shinji Kubo new UNHCR Country Representative

DHAKA: Japan national Shinji Kubo has joined as new Country Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Bangladesh.

Kubo presented his credentials to foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali on Wednesday (August 3), a press release issued by UNHCR said on the day.

Since his joining in UNHCR in 1993, Kubo has been working among the refugees across the globe.

He began his career in Damak of Nepal. Later, he worked in Malaysia, Iran, Sri Lanka, Japan, Indonesia and other parts of the globe.
