Jamaat prepared to contest all 300 seats: Parwar

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Parwar on Friday announced that the party has completed full preparations to contest the upcoming national elections by fielding candidates in all 300 constituencies.

Speaking as chief guest at a reunion of Khulna City Unit Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) at the Al Faruq Society auditorium, Parwar urged Jamaat activists to enter the election field with “full strength,” saying the moment was right to take the message of Deen (Islam) to people across the country.

He called on former ICS leaders and activists to once again play a vital role in shaping the nation’s future.

The event, held under the slogan “Drawn by Harmony, Back to the Roots (1977–2025),” was marked by emotional reminiscences. Parwar recalled the contributions of several former leaders, including Aminul Islam Biman, Sheikh Abdul Halim, Amanullah Aman, Rahmat Ali, Abul Kashem Pathan and journalist Sheikh Belal Uddin, describing their sacrifices as “a shining chapter in Jamaat’s history.”

Khulna City Unit Shibir President Arafat Hossain Milon presided over the event, with Secretary Rakib Hossain conducting it. Jamaat’s Khulna Regional Assistant Director Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Metropolitan Ameer Prof Mahfuzur Rahman, District Ameer Maulana Emran Hossain, and other central and local leaders also addressed the gathering.
