DHAKA: A student of Eden Mohila College has been killed in a road accident in city’s Katabon area Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Rima Akhter, 20, daughter of Habibur Rahman, residing in Dhanmondi 32 area of the capital.

Sources told banglanews that Rima along with her friend sustained serious injuries, after the motorcycle on which they were riding collided with a truck.

Confirming the matter, her friend, Emon, who is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), said that Rima was declared dead on arrival at DMCH.

“We were returning home after attending a birthday party at Jatrabari’s Kajla,” he added. “The truck knocked us down suddenly while crossing the Katabon intersection.”

Later, according to Emon, witnesses rushed them to DMCH and Rima succumbed to her injuries there.
