DHAKA: The government has decided to appoint M Abdul Hannan, who is currently serving as Bangladesh Ambassador to Switzerland and Permanent Representative to the UN Offices in Geneva and Vienna, as the new High Commissioner of Bangladesh to UK.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release in this regard on Sunday afternoon. 

M Abdul Hannan is a member of the 1984 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre.

In his diplomatic career, Hannan pursued ambassadorship in Oman and Bangladesh Missions in Karachi, Ottawa, Kolkata and Moscow in various capacities.

He obtained MSS degree in Economics from Chittagong University and achieved a Master of Arts in Diplomacy from the University of Lancaster, UK.
