At least three people were killed and several others injured in a head-on collision between an oil tanker and a human hauler (Mahindra) in Dumuria upazila of Khulna on Saturday (May 17) morning, police said.
The crash occurred around 10:30 am in front of the Dumuria Fire Service station.
Dumuria Police Station Officer-in-Charge Masud Rana confirmed the matter.
The injured were rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital. Identities of the deceased were not immediately confirmed, howver.
Local authorities said the impact of the collision was severe, causing extensive damage to the Mahindra vehicle, a popular mode of local transport in rural areas.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the crash.
