Benazir urges to obey traffic rules

DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Benazir Ahmed said that the city dwellers should know the culture of the city and should obey by the traffic rules and signals.

He came up with the observation on Sunday noon while speaking to public to encourage using Banani foot over bridge, which included a modern escalator recently.

Benazir Ahmed said “DMP found that people are not using the foot over bridge, rather crossing the road on foot with high life risk.”

The DMP chief forewarned that if people do not obey the traffic rules, he will take action against the rules breakers.

He disclosed that DMP is trying to modernize the traffic system for smooth communication and hoped city dwellers will abide by the system.

Nirapod Sarak Chai president Ilias Kanchan, columnist Syed Abul Maksud and actor Monir Khan Shimul were present at that time.
