2 killed in separate accidents in city

DHAKA: Two people were killed in separate accidents in Mugda and Moghbazar on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Habibur Rahman, 20, a bus helper of Manda area of Mugda Thana and Mohammad Manik, 60, in Wireless Gate area of Moghbazar.

Habibur’s relative Helal said that a bus run over him when he was put up passengers in the area around 9:00 am, leaving him critically injured.

He was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injures around 1:15pm.   

In another accident, Manik was killed as an Airport-bound train hit him in the area around 12:30 pm.

His rescuer Hasanuzzamn, a student, said he breathed his last at DMCH.

Officer-in-Charge Mozammel Haq of DMCH outpost confirmed the incidents.
