DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said only education can build poverty and hunger free Bangladesh.
The premier came up with the observation while addressing a prize giving ceremony at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital Wednesday.
Sheikh Hasina said: “Bangladeshis achieved the right to speak in mother tongue Bengali through movement and that was start of fighting for education.”
She added that father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had stressed on education and he introduced mandatory and honorary education in primary level especially for female students.
The prime minister appreciated existing creative questions system saying, “It has made the chance to expand intelligence and creativity for our students.”
Awami League government reorganized the education system to boost quality by forming new education policy, she further added.
The prize giving ceremony was held for the second time where three groups of students from six to HSC level participated in the competition started from May 3.
