DHAKA: A college student drowned, while taking bath in the Dhanmondi Lake of the capital on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Rajib, 16, a HSC examinee of next year from Mohammadpur Abul Hossain College.

Police source that he was living with his parents at Rayer Bazar area of the city.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Dhanmondi Thana Officer-in-Charge Ashok Chouhan said that Rajib went missing while taking bath in the lake with his friends on noon 12:30pm.

“As he didn’t know how to swim -- his friends started searching with the help of locals from then on,” he added.

OC told that later deceased’s body floated there, after half an hour.

However, Rajib’s body was handed over to his family.
