NOAKHALI: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Sonaimuri and Begumganj upazilas of the district on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Tarek, 11, resident of Kalikapur village of Sonaimuri upazila and Achhia, 70, of Begumganj upazila.

Witnesses said that a rashly driven pick-up van rammed into Tarek while he was cycling in Bogadia Bazar area of Sonaimuri upazila around 10:00am, leaving him dead on the spot.

On the other hand, a 70-year old woman was crushed under train’s wheels in Chaumuhini Railway Station area of Sonaimuri upazila around 9:00 am, leaving her dead on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge of Sonaimuri Thana Abdus Samad confirmed the matter to banglanews.
