A Bangladeshi businessman was shot dead during an armed robbery in Almada, on the southern outskirts of Lisbon, Portugal.
The victim, Mahbubul Alam, was gunned down at his shop on Friday evening after a group of assailants attempted to rob the premises.
According to police sources, the attackers opened fire when Alam tried to resist, shooting him three times in the chest before fleeing the scene.
His wife and two daughters, aged 10 and 14, were present at the time and witnessed the entire incident.
Emergency services rushed to the location, but Alam was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Portuguese police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
Investigators said the attackers—believed to be two teenagers between 16 and 17 years old—were dressed in black, wore hoods, and used firearms.
As of Saturday, no arrests had been made.
According to family sources, Mahbubul Alam, son of US expatriate Nanna Mia, hailed from Manikkona village in Fenchuganj upazila of Sylhet.
He had moved to Portugal with his family around three years ago from the UK.
