The Russian House in Dhaka on Wednesday (June 4) held a special event dedicated to Day of Russia.
The official ceremony commenced with the performance of the Russian national anthem and welcoming addresses by the guests.
In their speeches, the speakers highlighted the historic role of the Soviet Union in the formation of Bangladesh. It was emphasized that Bangladesh's independence was achieved in large part due to the comprehensive support provided by the USSR.
The cultural program featured vibrant performances of traditional Russian dances and songs, including "Kalinka", "Nad Vodoi", "Katyusha", "Gori, Gori Yasno", "Kadril", "Russia Will Remain Russia", "O Dalokoy Rodine", "Oy, Da Ne Vecher", and others.
A photo exhibition dedicated to Day of Russia drew particular attention from the audience.
The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, public and youth organizations, scientific and educational institutions, university students, Bangladeshi cultural figures, including members of the Russia-Bangladesh Friendship Society, the Soviet Association Alumni of Bangladesh, compatriots, and diplomats from the Russian Embassy. The total number of participants exceeded 300 people.
