18 Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims admitted in Saudi hospital

A total of 62 Bangladeshi pilgrims have received medical treatment in Saudi Arabia so far while performing Hajj this year, according to the Hajj bulletin published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Thursday.

Out of them, 18 pilgrims are currently undergoing treatment at Saudi government hospitals.

According to Hajj bulletin, 20,367 automated prescriptions have been issued to Bangladeshi pilgrims from medical centers across Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, nine Bangladeshi pilgrims have passed away—eight men and one woman. Among them, four died in Makkah and five in Madinah.

As of now, 52,690 pilgrims from Bangladesh have reached Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. Of them, 4,583 travelled under government management and 48,107 under private arrangements.

This year, the Hajj is expected to be held on June 5, subject to moon sighting. The first Hajj flight departed on April 29, and the last outbound flight is scheduled for May 31.

The government quota allows 5,200 pilgrims, while the private quota stands at 81,900. Return flights will begin on June 10 and continue until July 10.
