The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Saturday (December 2) arrested 33 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a statement issued by DMP today.

They seized 15,609 pieces of Yaba tablets, 22.65kg of hemp, 1gm of heroin, 60 pieces of Tapentadol tablet, four bottles of foreign wine, and six bottles of Phensedyl from their possessions, it also said. 

Some 26 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act, the statement added.
