India win first Test against Bangladesh

DHAKA: India thrashed Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs in their match of the two-match Test series in Indore on Saturday (Nov 16).

Bangladeshi batsmen couldn’t stand the might of the Indian bowling attack as they succumbed to them. Bangladesh were bundled out for 213 runs.

However, Mushfique Rahim, Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan provided some resistance and stood their ground for some time, they eventually had to accept defeat.

In the first innings, they were only able to score 150 runs only. In response, India piled a huge 493 for six. 

With his victory, India took a 1-0 lead in the two-Test series. The second Test (day-night) will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata from November 22.

Bangladesh: 150 and 213 in 69.2 overs (Mushfiqur Rahim 64; Mohammed Shami 4/31).

India 1st innings: 493 for 6 declared in 114 overs (Mayank Agarwal 243, Ajinkya Rahane 86, Cheteshwar Pujara 54; Abu Jayed 4/108).
