DINAJPUR: Two people were electrocuted in Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur Wednesday evening (August 23).

The deceased were identified as—M Abdul Khalek, 35, and M Abdus Samad, 45, hailed from Joypurhat sadar upazila and Kurigram district respectively.

Chirirbandar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) M Haresul Islam told Banglanews that Khalek died immediately as a poll bent upon the electric wire while he was climbing the poll at Ranirbandar Women College campus for connecting solar power line.

Besides, two others including Rahim sustained injuries while assisting Rahim in the work. 

The injured were taken to a hospital where Rahim succumbed to his injuries at the night.

However, the other one was undergoing treatment, he added.
