Coronavirus: Bangladesh confirms 2 more deaths, 9 new cases

DHAKA: Bangladesh has confirmed two more deaths from coronavirus disease in the last 24 hours pushing the death toll to 8, said the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR). 

Besides, nine more people have tested positive, raising the total number of coronavirus cases in Bangladesh to 70, according to the institute.

Director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora disclosed the information in an online press briefing on Saturday (April 4) noon.

A total of 30 coronavirus infected persons recovered as four more patients have recovered across the country in the last 24 hours, she added.

Besides, the death toll from the coronavirus or COVID-19 has crossed 59,000 globally as of Saturday noon.

Coronavirus has so far infected more than 11 lakh people around the world, according to worldometer.
