Bangladesh will bat first in the second One Day International (ODI) against the West Indies at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, starting at 1:30pm on Tuesday.
Following an effortless win in the first ODI, Bangladesh, led by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, are on the verge of securing a series victory. The home side will look to build on their strong performance, especially their spin attack, which dominated the first game.
The pitch in the opening match heavily favored spinners, a factor Bangladesh exploited effectively through Rishad Hossain’s brilliant bowling. Ahead of the second ODI, both teams have bolstered their spin departments: West Indies called up Akeal Hosein, while Bangladesh added Nasum Ahmed to their squad.
Bangladesh XI: Soumya Sarkar, Saif Hassan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz (capt), Mahidul Islam Ankon, Nurul Hasan (wk), Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman.
